Macclesfield is a town well known in the market that is in the county of Cheshire, England. It is a medium sized city with a population of approximately 52,000 people. The city is considered by some to have been the name of "Michael Field", which refers to the church of San Miguel. The parish church was built in 1278.
Macclesfield Forest used to be popular deer hunting and the breeding of sheep and cattle. Towards the end of the 13th century, vast areas of forest have been unearthed Due to the growing population of the city.
The city is situated on the river Bollin in East Cheshire. Just 30 miles from Chester city is the capital Cheshire County. At some point in history, Macclesfield was known as the largest producer of silk, trimmed in the world. Currently there are four museums silk devoted to this period. Paradise Mill is now a museum of works of folk art silk fabrics.
The location is accessible from the rest of England and its railway station was opened in 1873. Also reported the only city in the English factory, which was not bombed in WWII. The City Hall of Georgia, dating back to 1823, was designed by Francis Goodwin.
Like most English towns, with a team football for sports fans called Macclesfield Town. The team currently plays in League two and the rugby club in the city plays in National Division Three (North). The local cycling club and chess club are also very popular.
Culturally, the site offers Macclesfield Amateur Dramatic Society, who was born in 1947 and houses three local art galleries. Gawsworth Hall is another popular cultural center, which holds an annual festival of Shakespeare and a variety of music and other events art. The city is also home to legendary bluesman John Mayall.
